You know that remix of Summertime Sadness that they play all the time?
I’ve said this before but yeah that crap sucks
And it makes me so mad
Their video for the remix is even worse
What the actual fuck are you doing
Honestly, one of my favorites parts of Tropico was just in the credits "Written by Lana Del Rey". I was like yes Lana you fucking go that monologue was absolutely perfect
Haha actually the monologues were not by Lana. The first one (“…I sing the Body Electric. The armies of those I love engirth me and I engirth them… -, Oh, I say now, these are the soul.”) is a poem called "I Sing The Body Electric" by Walt Whitman, second one - (“I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness…”) is a poem called "Howl" by Allen Ginsberg. The last one (“And so, from being created in his likeness, to being banished for wanting to be too much like him, we were cast out, and the Garden of Eden transformed into the Garden of Evil… -, Paradise lost.”) however, was her original work.
So weird and hilarious to see people finding out about the songs used in Tropico just now after a whole year. Lol. As always.
It’s my beautiful America, beneath God’s white white sky.
Can you please explain tropico because I watched it and I was confused?? Thanks :)
Well obviously everyone has a different opinion on how they’d explain Tropico. I don’t know how to explain it, you just feel it and watch it over and over again. I just think that when Lana and Shaun bit the forbidden fruit (Body Electric), God banished them from Garden of Eden and they were sent to Garden of Evil (Gods And Monsters) and later they basically wash each other from their sins (before Bel Air) and I think Bel Air is basically God taking them back to heaven. I mean obviously I could be completely wrong, it’s just what I think Tropico is about. Plus, to Lana, all of this has more hidden meaning which obviously we don’t know.
